From 1982 to the present day
The story
The story of Guy Conan, son of a farmer, who frequented the markets and was well-liked by everyone: he was nicknamed "Uncle Guy". In 1982, he changed his life and bought L'Escale, a bar on the port of Paimpol.
In 1991, he acquired a fashion house which became L'Islandais, before converting it into 4 rooms. In 1997, a former shipowner's residence, next to L'Islandais, became the K'Loys hotel (Ker Loys: "Louis's House" in Breton).
In 2001, Guy's nephew, Jean-Marc Conan, joined the venture. In 2005, the restaurant "Bistrot de Tonton Guy" was established.
In 2012, Guy handed over the reins to Jean-Marc. That same year, he bought a former jewelry store, which became Chez Adam. In 2016, a major renovation project allowed for the expansion of L'Islandais and K'Loys.
In 2022, Nicolas (Jean-Marc's eldest son) and his partner Anna joined the adventure. They invested and created the Hôtel-Restaurant Les Hauts de Kerano, and its own unique identity.
Les Maisons de Louis is first and foremost a family story.
